Try emailing these guys...

briansminigun@hotmail.com

I got this off another site (http://www.montysminiguns.com/brian.htm). This Brian guy designed and built a fully functional 6bbl minigun that fires very economical .22 Long Rifle rimfire cartridges. According to this site the rate of fire can be adjusted from 900 to 3200 rounds/min and it runs off a motorcycle battery.

This is a great idea because the cost of ammo for a larger caliber minigun would be off the charts. Imagine the M134 firing .308Win at 3000 rounds/min (50 rounds/second!) firing military surplus ammo at about $0.20/round. Thats $10 per SECOND worth of ammo. Compare this to the typical .22LR at only $0.02/round, or about $1/second at 3000r/min.

If you've never seen/heard a Gatling gun in action, let me tell you it's a sight to behold. I watched F/A-18's do strafing runs with their 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannons out at 29 Stumps. They would pull up at about 1000ft, roll inverted and pull into a dive. Then you'd see the smoke from the cannon and hear the BZZZZZZZZZZZT and anything inside of a 50ft radius of the point of aim on the ground would be instantly consumed in a hail of 20mm HEIT (High-Explosive Incendiary Tracer) bullets.

Holy crap!

The noise polution standing next to that thing firing 50 .308 cartridges a second must be unbearable. I stood next to a sporting rifle firing those cartridges without ear protection and its painfull allmost.

Why not set a trap, catch the buggers live, load them into a cannon, and fire them into a neighbours garden.
Much more fun!!!
