Bergen R/C Helicopters > Futaba 601/9251 Servo and 6 Volts

using 601/9251 on bergen gasser. two 6V packs, two switches, and one battery backer, giving me 5.3V to receiver. Contacted futaba, gyro can handle the voltage, servo definately cannot. Anyone know how to use the 5.3V to the receiver, and regulate 4.8V to the one and only digital (tailrotor) in the system? I don't have a clue, any help would be appreciated. Also posted this in the 'gyro' section. Thanks for looking, Rick

mak you a voltage drop device with some resistors, out of a servo extension so it plugs in line to the servo. just a suggestion, there may be a company that offers a voltage regulator already that could be modified.

Voltage drop device

would prefer an electronic regulating device that won't use up the battery.

thats what i was getting at,
but thats what a regulator is, the excess voltage has to go somewhere, its dissipated as heat by resistors, whether its something you rig on your own, or buy a regulator

Mosfet

was hoping for something using a chip, they loose very little voltage, and don't rely on resistors to drop the voltage. But your right, there is a price for dropping voltage. Thanks,
Rick
