Aerial Photography and Video > Pitch settings for a gasser lifting a camera

Trying to set up the 2 gassers that I have to lift an under slung
camera system. The radio if using is a 9Z, so i'm assuming a
it's a 5 point pitch curve. Any good pitch settings and throttle
curves would be great.

Thanks

Jeff

Curves

I have a Bergen Intrepid gasser with an underslung camera setup and I am using the stock 0-25-50-75-100 on both the throttle and pitch curves with +10 at full stick. Seems to be working fine for me.

Although you'll probably never use it in normal camera work, I'd suggest you put in all the pitch your motor will pull. I'm running the old 230 puh engine in an X-Cell and 11 dgrees is all the engine will pull.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Thanks Fellas

I'll go with Cmartins settings and see how that goes. What size blades are you using and what kind of weight are you lifting with the Bergen ?

I'm flying 680's on my X-Cell with a camera and mount weight of 4 1/2 pounds, making the total weight 16 1/2 pounds. The weight is only noticable when stoping a decent.

Hope this helps,
SteveH

I agree on the stopping a decent statement. The heli falls like a locomotive when coming down. However, I have found that a little higher RPM/lower pitch works better for me. More of a constant RPM that way.

I pretty much agree with what these guys say. Pitch curve for me is the same with or without the camera equipment (6 extra pounds), however I did bump the throttle curve up a tad in the 3 and 4th points to keep my hover at 50% stick. I run 710 blades and no governor on my X-cell.
