30 to 60

I started also with a Raptor 30 and then moved to a Vigor. I now have a Fury 60 and a Freya 60. The transition is easy. I was told the Fury would be very sensitive in hover. I do not fly with any Expo and had no problems with hover. Everyone tells me to use Expo but so far I haven't needed it. I may add it as I work more on inverted hover. The transition is extremely easy. The autos are totally easier with a lot of reserve. The larger mass makes rolls and flips a little different but nothing much to get used to if you start with proper altitude. The only real difference is the checkbook is a little lighter after crashes. I hope you enjoy your Fury as much as I do mine. I try all new maneuvers on my other helis and then do them on the Freya. So far, it has not hit the dirt.

It looks a lot different from the way furyflier flies. I need to power mine up. That should be soon. I just need my paddles and 30%.

About expo

Did you say that non expo would make it linear. It seems a bit unclear.

I also wonder why they call it epo. An exponential graph (a times b^x)
is not like the one in the radio when a quartic regression (x^3) is what matches the graph on the the transmitter when expo is added. It also matches a section of the tangant function as well. Now who cares.

OS #8 or Enya #3. If you fly in really hot, humid weather, an Enya #4 may works a little better. Some people like the K&B 4520, if you have trouble finding the others.

Since I've been flying only 30's for over 2 1/2 years and just now started flying my Fury 60, I think I can lend a little experience to you. At first, it seemed like a whole other world. In hover, it doesn't require so many stick inputs(especially in wind), so I seemed to be over controlling it a little bit at first, but once I figured it out I progressed quickly. Besides being more stable, tracking in FF more true, and having gobs more power (and gobs more $$$) its pretty much the same. It took me about 7 to 9 flights(somewhere around there) to get comfortable and start flying around. Autos are much easier on a 60 as well. Seneca is right, the fuel consumption is almost double! I think its easier to go from a 30 to a 60 instead of going from a 60 to a 30. I think you'll make the transition pretty well, its for the better!

No, I don't do anything with balls. I don't think busting them is for this forum. For once I must agree with furyflyer.
