I'd like to know why there are so many fittings in the Benzin's fuel tank, can anybody explain to me what each one of those are, and if they are really needed, see link.

You can do away with 3 if you like just pluged the return line to tank from carb.

You can do it with three if you put a Tee in the return line and place a one-way valve between the Tee and the Carb. However, with a gas engine you obviously have to feed the card, you have to have a return line and you have to vent the tank.

I did this with my 212 and it seems to work fine.
