Since October I´ve been flying a Sceadu 50 with OS engine.
Last weekend the rear bearing broke, sending pieces to all parts of the engine, damaging piston, linner, head and glow plug.
I´ve been using the engine for about 250 flights with 30% nitrometane sythetic helicopter fuel.
If you are OS50 user, be carefull to change BB at good time!

I had the exact same problem except I had less than 50 flights in my OS 50. I sent the engine back to hobbyservices and they replaced it with a new-one a couple of days after.

BTW, that was the first time I ever tried the warranty on any hobbyservices distributed brand product and needless to say, their customer-support was nothing less than excellent.

Sounds like a "High Speed" bearing with a composite
retainer is in order.

well, I really consider that 250 flights is enought time to have a BB problem on a glow engine used with 30% nitro...
I did not send the engine back to service cause for me is more expensive the fright charge to USA or Japan than the spares, and also cause in the past I had bad experiences with OS service.
I replaced the stock NSK bearing with a NTN one, that I belive is quite better.
Any comments are welcome,
