Janek, not sure if there enough left to call it a Raptor, and the bin men came today so the bulk of it has gone forever. All I have is the main gear, the carbon subframe, a bent looking head, swashplate (might go on an Ergo soon), metal frame joiners, that's it.

I don't have a cheque book, maybe I'm a credit-card modeller!

He finally rang the bell, knew he wouldn't be able to resist. It's the Z man
The English major himself. He reckons everyone should use the search function before posting. So should I record every conversation around the world that way when I jump in I will know what has been talked about. If you dont have anything constructive to say just move along z man

I have seen many of the Z mans posts since I have been a member here, and I would say he is as constructive and helpful as most people on this site....

A lot of other members responses to low post count (assumed new) users about "use search" and "here we go again" are because the same question comes up over and over again and people arent using the knowledge of past posters to best deal with their problem...

Perhaps if you have used the search function already and indicated that you had not found the answer to your particular question then others might add something...

Remember this is a public forum, and by using search you may find a lot of answers and not have a need to post a new thread... lots of people find it helpful that the search function is pointed out to them and are grateful...

I for one use the serch function as my first port of call when looking for new info, takes a lot of time, but the amount of additional information you can pick up from this resource is quite staggering... can even help you solve problems you didnt even know you had but were wondering just "why your raptor pitches forward when you lower the collective" (example only)...

Seek first to understand before being understood... another famous quote (Covey) and look into the persons reasons for suggesting use of the search rather than assume its a personal attack (which it most likely isn't)

pchuckie, don't be disheartened and stick with us here on RR, we are a friendly bunch most of the time, and some have a lot you can learn from whether they can fly like JK or not...

After all, how many formula 1 car designers/builders can drive like a formula 1 driver?????

Again, who really cares how you live your life at home when you are not flying a helo. And if a guy has 3000 some posts and only has a raptor 30, maybe he just is dedicated to his 30 size machine, and doesn't want to mess with that high dollar crap. so, Who really cares??

I agree and disagree...I do think the search function is a great tool for locating certain information, but sometmes a Newbie might not know where to start searching. I think they should just ask the question straight up...then wait for a more experienced member to answer his question or give him an idea of what to search for, whether it be a past thread or a member's name to help pinpoint the solution.

If another newbie is trolling along with the same question, they might see that thread and follow it, whereas if the first guy never asked the question, the second one could not benefit.

I too realize that can't just believe what someone says just because they have a zillion posts, but if someone here is spouting a bunch of B/S to some newbie, they will probably get pounced on by others in short order.

Just my .02 cents
