I think Driftrider said it well. There is no relationship between post count and heli knowledge/setup.

I know many of these so-called "checkbook flyers". Never heard it called that before but very accurate description. Love to talk the BS while most can't fly to save their butt! There is a local flier that flies a Raptor 30 with all digital servos, JR 5000 extreme gyro, carbon flybar stiffeners, loads of shiney parts, all controled by a 10x and he is barely to the forward flight stage after two years. But this guy will be more than happy to tell me what I need to do differently with my inches high inverted hover. Is this particular guy stupid and a waste of time? Definately not. Can this particular guy be irritating? Definately so.

You just have to take these types with a grain of salt, graze what information you can, and throw out the rest. Its kind of what makes this hobby great for me. You meet all types.

In the end, it all about making the most out of this wonderful hobby we ALL enjoy. If you didn't have some attraction to this hobby, you wouldn't be sitting in front of your computer reading this at 8:00 p.m. on a Monday night!

Later,
Matt

Actually the reason I posted what I posted is this certain person likes to reply to almost every post from a newbie with a certain line. After reading almost all of his topics and replies, he doesn't know squat.

I would say if one can do a goodly amount of 3d on a Raptor 30, that speaks to your flying skills a lot more than doing the same moves with a 90 class.

Champion, my YS doesn't use needles. I took them right out, so I can fly with 38º of pitch and 2900 rpm rotorspeed! NOW THAT'S some decent squat!

there are Fans of sports , coaches and players.

the fans some are very informative and know there sh@t,others are coaches meaning they still can fly as good as any but choose to just interject from the sideline ,and then there's the players, the hands on guys. In racing a great mechanic isnt always a great driver and vice-versa!

So why don't you call a spade a spade and name the guy?

Are ya, CHICKEN?

I think he's talking about DavidH. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I know it's not me because I have never hidden behind a shroud or illusion about my skills.

Also remember post count vs time on RunRyder. Some of us have been on RunRyder for a VERY long time. Many came over from RCO...Do you know what RCO is?

As far as the names Vet, elite vet and all that, Mark went through great pains to try to come up with something that detached the name from skill level. Now where did that thread go?.....????

Can't be me........I've crashed enough getting to my measely level to really know setups and other good B.S.

BTW if everyone tried to fly like Harkey once (FAI) they'ed see how hard that really is. Not meaning to start a FAI/3D debate but, that s&*t is hard to do CORRECTLY!

And I still haven't!

the search feature is there for a reason.. more than likely the NOOB question has been asked a trillion times before.. saves time, bandwith which ='s saving money, and reading extra stupid replies.. so ..... i have to disagree with you.

Jim, I could give lessons in Raptor hurling! I need to work out how to get good leverage from the blades without the carbon splinters cutting my and though.
