Today I had a PCM lockout/glitch caused by bad clutch bearings in my r50...

30 feet up I lost all control (and although I had set FS it didnt kick in)

Control was intermittent right up to the point where the tail let go, hyper speed piro (gyro had kicked into setup mode) hit throttle hold engine didnt respond....

SLAM into ground on QUK undercarriage 4 witnesses go very quiet.... grass is flying all over the place as heli spins about on ground....

engine cuts to idle (at last)

Walk over.... No damage... WTF....

no so much as a bent flybar... should have been a write off....

was flabbergasted rest of the day....

should I buy a lottery ticket you think?

Some people have all the luck! My R-50 went in on Friday from about 3 metres and was totalled.

Anyone want a NIB TT50, I collected mine 10 mins before the crash, but now have a new and an old one, so the older one is going into an Ergo and the new one is spare! Should have crashed earlier, could have saved buying an engine I no longer need.

I just owned up in answer to your question in another thread, too painful to type it all again!

Sympathy for the model I hope, it died unnecessarily; I was the guilty party.

Just a thought.

You know that delay thingy on the tx for the failsave.lf we delayed it to the max would it help stop the gyro going it setup mode?

hmm thats worth a look tosh....

i still dont understand why a gyro would go into setup mode without a power loss....

perhaps I have a dodgy switch or battery connection...

gonna have to investigate....

You're right, if you say the failsafe was set up and didn't kick in then there must have been a power loss, also the gyro going to setup mode would support this. Just change your switch and possibly battery to be sure. Check for frayed wires too.
