Strange init! A company with a name trying to imply a 'professional' approach.

So whats this bunch of clowns done to upset me?

Well a few Weeks ago I posted in the Engines forum with a problem, I cant locate a piston ring for a YS 61 ST anywhere, at least not in the UK. Several suppliers have also drawn blank. Anyway someone suggested that the above company would have a piston ring. I checked their web site and sure enough there was the very item listed.

I placed the order and filled in all the details about my credit card etc. During the course of placing the order a message came up to say that foreign customers would be contacted via email to confirm the cost of postage. Now to be honest as I cant get the dam thing anywhere else I don't give a stuff about the cost of postage.

Two day's later and their 'on site' order tracking shows the order as being accepted and an order number issued. However 1 week later and still no sign of an email from them.

Very politely I sent them an email asking for contact and saying that I did not see the cost of postage as being an issue, I just need the part. But another week on and still no contact so I decide to check their web. Login and go to my order only to find its number has changed, remember I have only ordered the one item with them, and its been bloody canceled!!!!!!!

Supercilious twats!!!!!!!! HeliPrats!!!

Sorry about the rant, but without this dam $15 piston ring I'm left with little choice but to consign the engine to the bin and thats going to cost me £100+ to replace it

That is a very kind offer. I have emailed HeliProz with my thoughts on the matter, but if during the next few days they fail to address the situation I will PM you to see what we can arrange.

Cheers

Phil something else you can do is send the engine into YS rather then pitching it in the bin. It would be ashamed to waste a perfectly good engine over a piston ring. The other thing is you could try looking at www.ronlund.com

I buy a lot of parts from "Ricks". Their service has always been great and Ron and Nathan are very good about contacting their customers.

just a thought......

I order from Heliproz all the time and have them ship via an alternate method. I place the order on the site and send an email with the order number and ask for USPS shipping. I always get an email the same or the very next day acknowledging my request, never had a problem with them.

Thanks for the replies guy's

One of the annoying things is that just in case, I have even ploughed through about 2000 'spam trapped' emails by my ISP. I thought I'd better do this on the off chance that a email from them had been caught in this. No luck of course, but hell fire is there some crap floating about out there

I can name two friends and myself that have been treated the same way by HeliProz here in New Zealand. They are very good at just cancelling orders without reason. They also are extremely difficult to deal with by email you have to email them 10 times over a week to get a response.

It was interesting to see them listed recently as one of the best suppliers by Americans on RR but they seem to treat anyone outside the USA as if they are scum.

After 3 bad orders I vowed never to deal with them again even though they have some neat stuff I would like.

I have ordered about 1/2 dozen times from Heliproz, even returning part of one order, and received nothing less then THE BEST service and response. I always order over the phone, and I think that because you are oversea's and e-mails are being filtered due to terrorism concerns, you may have fallen victim to lost mail. You did say yourself you have a spam filter and maybe YOU missed the letter. I have spoken to several guys at Heliproz over the last few months, Kurt, Eric, Larry, and they are all helpful to a fault, even talking me out of items that I really didn't need! They never rush and they are always nice and fun to talk to, they help me with my questions whether I am ordering or not. I can appreciate your frustration and anger, but I think the overwhelming majority have had only excellent service from Heliproz. There are too many truly bad merchants out there, it is not right to slam one of the good ones over this unusual problem.

Heliproz has lost my business due to their rudeness and willingness to feed a bunch of BS just to sell what is on the shelves at the moment. They have been very nasty on the phone and in emails on numerous occassions. Once, I wrote an email to Eric Hawkins about my dissatisfaction with their phone customer service, indicating that I had done business with them numerous times. He wrote back and said I had only bought one OS wc engine from them in the past 10 months, so how could I have been mistreated as a repeat customer. What he forgot to realize was each time I called for information about buying an entire 60 class heli (kit, engine, muffler, gyro, blades, servos, upgrades), I got conflicting stories from each of his employees. He didn't look back into my previous purchases over the years, he didn't value my engine purchase enough to consider me a potential repeat customer, so I took my $1400 and spent it at Rick's.

Rick's is the final solution. Pay the extra cost and be happy. Ron and Nathan are the best, PERIOD!!

Tyler,

I hear ya! I have long since stopped buying from Heliproz. On rare occations if I absolutly need something and no-one else has it I have been forced to use them.

All,

I must be 100% honest, I have not yet found the PERFECT web based heli shop. They all have had there moments when they have pissed me off. Then again I am a very critical customer and am easily disatisfied when I have something go south.

However when a place makes a mistake and fesses up that they where in error they do move up a notch. When they monkey around and offer little or no explination they advance downward in my ranking.

I will be honest when the perfect store is found or one of the present stores shapes up I'll be boasting about em, but for now... NO ONE store is all that good right now. Unfortunatly I have had to make several purchases as of late and they are all showing there colors.

OK,,
Have to add my 2 cents worth here about Ricks. About a year ago on a Sat I called Ricks to order a piston and sleve for a OS 32 I had bought used, only to find out it needed replacement. Rick answered the phone and told me he did not have one in stock but asked when I needed it. I told him that I had hoped to fly the middle of the following week and no big deal. I can hear him moving around as we talk helis for a minute then asked me my address. He explained he had just taken one out of a new engine and would that be OK. OK.... hell thats what I call SERVICE. For what its worth.

For those that have heard my story before on this forum I apologize.
