Aerobatic 3D Contest > How to do a funnel without losing altitude fast?

Well, this is the next move I'm going to learn.

I tried several times on the sim but I find that the heli drops very fast. How can I stop the heli from dropping and even make the heli climb?

wht type of funnel??? inverted tail in? inverted nose in? upright nose in? up right tail in??

I can do up right nose in prety much perfectly now. inverted tail in for me aint to smooth lookin

For up right nose in, i get it into a little foward flight, (10mph or so), then i start to add some right tail, then some foward cyclic, with a little right in it at the same time...it all takes time to do. i make a video on g2 and see if i can send it to you

Tail down, nose up and up right position.

I think this is the easiest to start with.

tail in is prety easy...get it into side was flight, then use the tail to make it do circles....i forget exactly how to do it, but your tail really controls you altitude, and how fast your doing the funnel. takes a little bit to figure out the sweet spot....i will figure it out on g2 and will tell you the controls...

I sort of did the funnel successfully a few moments ago. Thanks to a fellow RR member for sharing his Truflite file.

Ok, now doing one funnel is ok. I put in 45% expo on rudder to soften the control so that I will not over do it.

Now, how can I do multiple funnel, while controlling the height?

You mean with the tail pointing straight at the ground, the heli will fall faster. If the tail is pointing away from the direction of funnel and not to the ground, the heli will climb?

The close the the heli is to knife-edge, the faster it drops.... So as you get closer to knife-edge, the more pitch you need to keep it up. The direction of the tail is not relevant, for example piroing funnels are possible also.
