JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Stiffer Dampers for Voyager 50

I have searched, and searched, and searched, for the stiffer dampers for the Voyager 50, and can't find them. Does anybody have a part # or a link to them? Thank you!

This is my first JR heli, so I'm not familiar with their parts yet. Are they the same as the Ergo, or Venture 30? Thanks again!

They're the same as the Ergo but the so called 'hard' dampeners are USELESS!!!!

We've just fitted Raptor 50 metal blade grips with 6mm spindle shaft to our Voyagers and that's really tightened stuff up and made them fly how they should fly out of the box.
Got the idea from a guy who posted it here on RR.

Thanks JRSandiego

Si, why are they useless. Do they not make a bit of difference, do they wear out soon?

Just for future refrence, follow this link and it has places that carry stiffer dampers for the Voyager 50.

The ones I had didn't stiffen the head up much at all. However the 6mm Raptor spindle sorted it out .

Stiffer Dampers for Voyager 50

Why dont you just add shims between the blade grips & the rubbers, this is not only the cheapest option by far but also fully adjustable to suit your needs, there is nothing wrong with plastic blade grips the idea came about because people were bending the 5mm shafts in flight when using the pitch in the wrong place so have changed to Raptor 6mm shafts as a fix.

plantone,

If you just add shims inbetween the grips and dampers, you cause alot of resistance to movement on the grips, causing the servos to strain and overwork. You want the grips to move freely, no resistance or strain at all if possible. If you want to add shims there, you would need a c-clip system like the Fury has, or something similar to keep pressure off of the blade grips, but still on the dampers. The Voyager does not have such a system, so stiffer dampers are needed.

Hi gforce

what you are saying is correct if you put in the wrong size shims, they only need to touch the case on the ID bearing then putting NO load on the system at all this is how the Vigor works you are talking about making the shim the same size as the whole bearing, that wont work.you need to leave the outer case free of any objects so as to be able to move you can put as many shims in as you like this way until you get no dampening at all if you wish.

That makes sense. Where can you get these shims? Is it a JR part?
