NItrous Oxide does do the same as Nitromethane, adds oxygen to the mixture when it is burned. The extra oxygen allows for extra fuel, thats why you get more power. Nitrous oxide is gas at room temp, it has to be pressurized to be stored. If you wanted to run nitrous oxide in your heli, I can think of one possiblity if you like being creative. Nitrous oxide used to be sold in the little CO2 type cylinders you used in BB guns. It was sold in the stores as Whippets, used to whip cream. If you wanted to put a tiny regulator and servo on it, you would run a small hose to the air intake on the carb. You would also need to use a servo to richen up the fuel at the same time. It would create A WHOLE LOT MORE POWER than nitromethane and would probably burn up the piston, but I would be willing to fly to Washington to watch you fly it!!
It would be a blur as it disappeared! |
