know who this pilot is ? .. LM - Len Mount .. master builder extraordinary from england.. remember his BO105 military hunter killer .. these pics are the best in r/c .. this r/c eurocopter is the finest I've ever seen on the planet .

it's in the dauphin or EC155 (eurocopter) series of full scale heli's, a later or modern version but just as remarkable and stealthy .. enjoy ..

WOW! That is extraordinary... I'm speechless. I don't believe I've ever seen scale work like that! Are there any more pictures available?

Just think, Len only finished 2nd at Top Gun with his Dauphin. Peter Wales took first in Heli, and overall best scale with his Lama. If you check in the Events, Shows and Funflys section theres photos of both machines I put up.

HOW can they do that?

That is TRUE dedication to scale. I just don't think I could ever find the time, or money to invest into a project like that. Heck I wouldn't even know where to start.

That thing is incredible. My question is does it fly. I mean I see many pics of it I don't see one of it flying. I am sure it does but would like to see some. The attention to detail is amazing, one of his pics of the landing gear, he even has tires with marking on them much like new tires do. The hydraulic lines are also very detailed. For something like that, where in the world would you get those parts, or do you custom make them yourself?

When you turn something like this out it is known as AEROMODELLING!!
something we are in danger of loosing the art of, with lots of gear "off the shelf" for us.

It would seem the scale "plank" guys have the legs off the scale heli boys(except Len and a couple of others) when it comes to detailing...check out the Jet modellers efforts at Top Gun, Florida, when its held. Awesome.
Back to dreaming.

They got numbers. Super scale helis are a niche within a niche within a niche. The heli side just needs more people to dive into it.

Havoc, how right you are, since I have been doing the circuit, a lot more people around my area, are getting interested, Dave wallace has just posted his first scale, Matt for all his faults, has taken the plunge, a year ago he paid other people to do everything for him, now, he builds and sets up, gone the full range from glow to turbine, and now is close to completing his first solo scale,
Also a couple of youngsters that I teach are looking more to scale than 3D, that to me is very encouraging

You can pretty much guarantee it flies. I don't believe Len makes hangar queens. I had the chance to be a judge at the NATS this year and his Scout was amazing......something many wouldn't fly, but he flew it, and did it well....as did many of the competitors at the NATS.

I'm looking foward to seeing what guys bring next year.
