Why not try Cyber-heli and see if they can get you one from JR.
They are in the area there.
And of course there is always Larry Jolly who makes bodies.

Landing gear

When I looked at this several years ago, I think the gear folds, turns , compacts, and does about a gazillion movements before it stores. Jerry Hicks and I discussed it and decided you'd need a full time machinist to get a scale gear to work. If you use a straight back Robart style gear, the gear doors would need to be oversize, simpler but not scale.

On a dog sled team, if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

hey s-76 guy!!! thanks for the pic. my passion is strong.
gm-1, as much as i have looked at the gear on the s-76, i never realized the mains did all that. course, i never had the opportunity so see one operate while the machine was on jacks. always too far away when flying. i did manage to duplicate the gear on my agusta 109 almost like the fullscale and let me tell ya, it was a pain in the @#$!!
you may have to do like tony did and call robart. i am sure i can come up with something but the one holdup is I DONT HAVE A FUSELAGE!!! lol.
anyway, the hunt goes on. i will try cyber heli since they are in the same spot of the world for a jr fuse.

Here are some pictures of my gear.
Sorry they are blurry but it is all I have right now.
No you don't have to oversize the doors.

When I was originally asked about this, I had the actual mfr drawings and photos from Sikorsky for the A model. They look nothing like those pictured here and had something like 8 or 9 folding joints in each leg, the leg curling up like making a fist and rolling your hand into your wrist as it folded into retraction. What you have in here is likely a much newer version and it does look much simpler.

S-76 MAY BE AVAILABLE

Hey Guys CHeck this out this is an email I recieved from JR regarding the S-76 Although the JR link is useless in finding an S76 fuse I particularly like her closing statement about her tech ordering the body from a JR dealer in ASIA for us. If we can nail down some kit specifics and get enough of us maybe we can swindle a bulk order Put me down for one and CopterDoctor for one lets contact JR with a bulk order. Maybe we can strong Arm Horrizon into or Fuslage DEMANDS..This subject on runryder seems like we have big intrest on such a beautiful Biz exec bird. Lets hit em in number$$$
James DeNigrisJames,
Here is the information I got from my tech about that body set. He
suggested you check their website www.jrheli.com I hope this helps. Let me
know if there is anything else I can do to help in the future.

We do not have that body set in the US yet. They may have it available in
Asia. He would have to contact a JR dealer in Asia to get that body set
right now.
tks, DD

Sikorsky S76

Thanks Emile.
Hey Jerry
You are close with your number. There are six moving parts on the S76 landing gear. Three of them make up the drag brace assy and two make up the jury brace assy (the gear up and down locking feature) The last is the positioning rod the holds the strut inplace so the helicopter will not collapse. That is the one that goes down to the bottom by the sissor link. It would just about be next to impossible to scale them down to work in a scale helicopter. You also have the landing gear door link that pulls the door closed. That is on a swivel. That was one of the hardest things to do with my gear. It may not look difficult but when you try to do it you will have a different opinon on it.

The Hight is about 12 inches just the glass and the width is about 11 inches wide. The length is about 68 inches tail to nose.
It is a good size.

Tony,
Yeah, it looked like a nightmare to me to scale down, that's why we didn't do it. Larry Jolly was the one who originally asked me about it, now that I think about it. It was for a movie project and I believe he ended up going with a straight-back system just to get the gear into the well.

More info...

Ok, Schluter never made an S76, I have seen nearly every one of their catalogs since the early 80's, they did make the Cheyenne though. Peka in Germany made and probably can still produce their S76. It is gorgeous and made of kevlar so it is very expensive, about $800.00 US. I was able to get one for free from an old friend who left it rotting in his garage, I've taken it all apart and cleaned it up so I could strip and refinish it but have not had the time. I will do a little research, there was a company in Germany that I was able to buy some spare fuselage parts from, I got replacement windows, tail fins and a new top deck, this was about 3 years ago.

How about the Sikorsky MH-53 ???? I know there was an article about a custom built one with two gas engines -- how about one you wouldn't need a second mortgage for????
