Grips

I wasn't making reference to the type of material either is made of. Much less the color of the metal. I'm implying the design of the rotorhead on the FEIBA resembles the design of the FREYA's (which happens to be a solid axle head).

Waitaminit!

How much does these things cost anyway?!? We might be missing out on something good if we suddenly find out a fully decked out 60 size will only cost the same as a 60 size plastic fantastic from the well known manufacturers.

Just a thought.

In a couple of weeks the distributors will have an advert here on Runryder and the 60 scale heli will be offered in either seesaw head or flapping head (see the pics above) kits which come with machined aluminium parts as standard.

The main rotor blades and canopy come standard in FRP (fibre reinforced plastic)

The price should be in the region of US$ 675-695.

This is all the information I have till now given to me by the manufacturer recently upon my interst shown in the Helis.

There could be a lot of these types of helis coming from the far east soon...

It seems its far cheaper to setup a CNC machine to make the parts than make up plastic moulds for a plastic fantastic...

Quickww is a prime example....

These helis do look as though they have taken the best from other designs and compiled them into one high quality metal machine...

The reality is will they work well?

If they work as nice as they look could be a winner, but like the DNHP why all the different colour anodising?

Why not stick to one colour it looks so much tidier....

As to the colour anodizing, I am not sure why many Asian manufacturers prefer to use colours in rc models but you can see this also in RC car manufacturing, I think by taking a guess that this is sort of a must for these manufacturers as they boast about it.

Well I guess it all boils down to how well these helis perform.

But I guess after a manufacturer goes through the trouble of machining and designing such helis they are sure to fly quite well, what would be the point of cnc machining so much aluminium?...

As I mentioned above Aqua

It is far cheaper to setup and make a name for yourself using CNC machinery...

Programming and seting up CNC machinery is the most expensive part of CNC machining and with labour costs so low in the far east they can do it very competitively...

Once they have the right funds they can then move onto fabrication of more plastic parts which is very expensive if they desire...

CNC is high quality, relatively cheap startup costs, lower profit margin initially when establishing a name...

Plastic is okay quality, very expensive startup costs, higher profit margin once startup costs are exceeded...

I hope we will see these heli's in the UK at some point, they do look very nice...
