| Cut 'emThe nice thing about the NHP blades is that you can put them into a razor/miter saw and cut them to any length. I do this routinely. When someone dorks their heli, I will buy the damaged tip blades then cut them down to the max allowing clearance to the mains on a smaller heli, usually a Raptor 30 or 50. I have found that even if coming from different original pairs, the weights are identical after the cut. I then seal the ends with carbon cloth and CA.
I recently shortened a pair of SAB 95's to 92 by sanding the ends down and sealing similarly. Worked fine.
The trick is to use a bolt to hold the two blades together so that the cut, or sanding path, is identical on both blades. |
