Apache

Fantastic Job, Ed

After 20-years, we're still building Longbow Apaches here in Mesa. Looking forward to the Comanche program.

I'm looking for a builder myself to build a 1:6th scale turbine Comanche for me.

Apache kit from Germany

Hi Rene,

are you aware of this kit:
http://www.mpkunststofftechnik.de

(click on "Produkte" on the left side and then scroll to the bottom).

I have no more detailed information about the fuse, but from the pictures, it looks nice.

Apache kit

Hi Bernard,

Thanks for the advice. It really looks nice, and the size seems ok. I'll contact them on further info (like sizes for the mech's, landing gear etc.).

By the way, anybody else know of a kit? Seems that in Mesa these machines are still on stock (Arkangel?).

The Comanche-project also has my (platonic) interest. Seen the fuse Len Mount has for it (www.lenmountscalefuselages.com)? Looks quite complete and detailed.

You can see links for Len Mount's 1:8th scale Comanche at http//:www.aerohobbies.com/ . I think it uses a 60 engine and support Jakadofsky PJ-W turbine.

RIght now no one building the Comanche, hasn't caught on yet, still a top-secret aircraft.

I'm working on a 1:6th scale - 7'-2" long.

I was interested in the Apache fuse for an Xcell 60.

Century discontinued the Apache about a year ago. However, after corresponding with them yesterday about it, they MAY initiate production of these fuses again next year. They are currently planning to have a Commanche fuse hit the market late this year.

Obviously they don't sell a lot of these, so demand for them has to be there or it's not worth their while. If anyone's interested in the AH64 fuse, I recommend that you send Century an email and tell them of your interest. Might put it back in production sooner rather than (later | never).

Form for Apache heli on ebay

Hi,

in case someone was interested in producing an Apache fuse himself, there is currently an auction on ebay for such a form, 13 different pieces, for an fuse with approx. 2m long, 60cm wide:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=25923

Unfortunately the current owner would not ship the form, he wants the new owner to come and pick it up.
