This guy is NOT the law, judge, or jury.... so he shouldn't act that way.... I agree it would suck to get ripped off and yes most of us would like to say the hell with the cops and take matters into our own hands.... but then what would we have?????? The wild west.... I voted yes
(charge the robbers for the theft and bust the hum vee driver for attempted manslaughter)

just my opinion.. J

I'd say there's a huge grey area in this case. It would be easy to argue in court that the driver of the Hummer was trying to stop the robbers from getting away and had no clue (or intention) that he would completely run over the whole car.

Even though the Hummer is pretty big, it's hard to picture it running over a car. In court the issue would be trying to determine the intent of the Hummer driver. Am I right? I'm not a lawyer, but I did sleep in a Holidy Inn Express once

I would say that under the circumstances that he used "Reasonable Force."
A couple of decades ago I was setting up some 25" color monitors for some trade show in a major hotel. Brought 6 of them into the ballroom and unpacked them out of their boxes. I go out to my truck for a box of coax cable, as i am walking back towards the door I see a very neatly dressed gentleman with the aid of one of the doormen loading up one of the monitors into the back seat of his car. I calmly but briskly walk back to my truck and then drive to the exit of the parkade. I line up the truck 90* to the exit just before the street but still on the hotels property. I quickly tell the fellow in the booth that it may not be such a safe place to be in a couple of minutes & that a robber is about to try & make a getaway. Well you can guess the rest. I nailed the turkey right smack in the middle of both passenger doors and managed to push his car about 20' sideways into a wall. Police arrive about 15 minutes later while this turkey is still screaming away. They write down all the vital information ect.. While one cop has this fellow in the back seat of his cruiser I tell the sergeant (I knew all the cops at that time because I used to service their radio equipment) that the TV in the other fellows car is not his, he had just stolen it out of hotel from my company. They didn't even let him back out of the car, straight to jail. Of course he was released a few hours later after being charged. A few days later the boss gets a call from the insurance company, aren't we going to file a claim. No the boss tells the fellow on the other end of the phone, the truck was scheduled to be scrapped in a few weeks anyhow. Great says the insurance fellow. Why is that great news asks the boss? Well their position was this, as the vehicle was being used in the commission of a felony (theft of the monitor) that they would void his insurance. Fellow was fined $2000 for theft of the monitor and was **** out of luck on his brand new Cadillac.

I lost my infamous tag line.

the driver of the hummer did knowingly drive "over the car" he would have had to engage the 4 wheel drive inorder to get the hummer to plow over the car instead of just pushing it.

Hawk grabs pet dog
NICEVILLE, Fla. (AP)

''Drop the Chihuahua.''

That's what Sandy Parks shrieked when an injured red-tailed hawk dug its talons into Bandita, a 6-pound spitting image of the Taco Bell commercials' talking Chihuahua.

The hawk burst from a neighbor's bushes Monday and grabbed little Bandita, only to find itself in a tug-of-war with Ms. Parks, who was hanging onto the other end of a 5-foot leash.

''Here I am, yelling 'Drop the Chihuahua! Drop the Chihuahua!'' said Ms. Parks, 61. ''I am surprised I didn't scare the hawk away. I had no idea they had that much tenacity. I've been hungry before, but I've never held on to food that much.''

Ms. Parks said she yanked on the leash and slammed the 2.6-pound bird into a wall. The hawk dropped, but kept its talons in Bandita, so Ms. Parks said she stomped on the bird, then slammed a door on its legs before it finally let go.

She left the hawk and rushed Bandita to the Niceville Animal Clinic where the dog's puncture wounds were treated.

Audubon Society members later brought in the hawk.

A veterinarian said the hawk suffered a broken feather in its battle with Ms. Parks, but it also had a previously broken wing that was still healing, clinic receptionist Laura Lassiter said Wednesday. The hawk weighed about half of what a bird with a 5-foot wingspan should, and its injury was probably why it attacked a pet.

The hawk will remain at the clinic for about six weeks while it recuperates, Ms. Lassiter said.

NOW here's the cincher.....................................

As for Bandita, she was sent home, but not before her owner was given a lecture about the illegality of battering birds protected by federal migratory bird laws.

All of the Hummers are full-time 4 wheel drive, just like the military versions (actually, the transfer cases and 4WD system are much better than the military version).

Don't believe me?

Here is the H1 Hummer's (diesel version) drive train specs:
http://www.hummer.com/hummerjsp/h1/specs/mechanical.jsp

Here is the H2's (gas version) drive train specs:
http://www.hummer.com/hummerjsp/h2/specs/mechanical.jsp

Scroll down a little until you get to the drivetrain section and you'll note that the first entry mentions that they are full time 4WD.
