Here's a picture of my Raptor 30 v1 sitting on top of my field box. It carries just about everything I need (except for the gas and video equipment).. It seperates into 3 parts for easy transport and has wheels and an adjustable handle.

here's a bigger picture...

I'm bored, just had to post something on the forum...

I have been considering switching to a field box setup like yours. One I could wheel around and then separate. How much did it cost you?

Field box

Those boxes (made by Stanley here) are sold at Home Depot for around $70.00. I bought mine about 2 years ago (almost $100). You can see how I set mine up by going to this page on my website:

http://www.rc-rotorywing.com/myproj.html

I have a pickup and I built a platform across the back that has an inset for the toolbox on the right side, my helis (3) mount on the platform beside it using drawer handles as guides and a length of pvc that goes across the front of the skids and is secured to a bolt with a wingnut.

You will love your toolbox....I only suggest that you trying mounting the power panel as I did, very convenient for sure. I don't use the rubbermaid fuel tank in the bottom drawer any more, it was too much trouble and leaks made a mess in the bottom of the drawer. I now store my starter(s) and a few other items in that drawer. My fuel pump is still mounted on the right side and I still use it with the container sitting outside the box.

Good luck with it.

eagledave, I saw your toolbox before! looks good! I'm not sure how I want to set it up yet, I'm still experimenting with layouts... It works good though... I just use a small 12v battery and it sits in the pullout drawer in the middle box along with my starter and some bigger tools that wont fit in the little parts drawer..

I use the bottom box to carry my VCR and cables... the top box carries my TX and video Rx's... the little parts drawer hold's all my field tools...

all that's left is my little 7" tv, the heli itself and the gas and my xPower300 portable AC/DC power supply...

Here's my little work corner and tool/field box

My setup ...

I've taken my Hawk Sport apart; trying to find the cause of some vibration and a "hiccup" coming from the tail rotor (or possibly the GY401) ...

The work table is from Home Depot ($25) and folds to about 4" flat (also doubles as a saw horse); the toolbox is from Kmart ($29), the bottom holds the battery and I made cutouts for the power and field charge panels. The bottom "tray" is perfect size to hold the heavy duty starter and a few other things (mostly needed when starting the Sport)

Overall very tidy and relatively cheap setup!

EagleDave,
I looked all over my Home Depot for the field box you mentioned.
After browsing the Internet for a few minutes, I believe the box is made by Zag for Stanley.
Have you seen the box in your local Home Depot lately?
I also looked on their website with no luck.
Thanks

God invented time so we don't have to do everything at once!

I have also been looking for that toolbox, and as best I can determine, it has been discontinued. I did find some web pages which refered to this as a STANLEY ROLLING TOOL BOX 3 in 1 . Home Depot has a Huskey version in red, but it only has the big drawer in the middle instead of a big and small drawer. I think this one is going for about $50. The Home Depot one has the tilting bin at the bottom, where the front of the bin is about 11 inches deep and the back of the bin is about 9 inchs deep.
