I believe this is a good topic. I often get questions about Vintage R/C Helicopters. This would also be a great place to share photos of vintage helicopters. Kinda like, "Does anyone know what this is"?
Well, as you might guess, I know about GMP Crickets. I love them because they are VERY challenging to fly. They really test your flying ability. Not for a beginner pilot! The pro/expert pilots have caught the Cricket bug and want to experience the thrill once again. Well, let's hear what you have hanging around the shop.

Hi,
I have some old pics of a Jurassic heli in my gallery. An Amercian R/C Mantis (fixed pitch). Note the stylish Rustoleum paint job and the Macs heloball. Sorry the pics are so bad, they were taken with another dinosaur... Kodak Disk Camera.

I'll post some pics of a recently retired Sport 500, soon.

Vintage Helis?

I have a couple of vintage helis as well, you can see them in my gallery. The one "in the bones" was given to me recently and I did ask here what it was as I had no idea.
The fellow that gave it to me-actually this Sat. found and gave me the original landing gear and the fan shroud, the gear in the pic is an after market that he put on. He says he has more parts but needs to dig them up--maybe they are in his yard?

Which one? The metal job looks like a Schluter. The sixty size was the Heli-Boy and the forty size was the Mini-Boy. I have a video tape put out by Mike Mas way back in 1983 showing him putting a Mini-Boy together, installing a four channel radio, setting it up and eventually flying it. He made it look so easy.

Which One?

Hi Kevan, the one that shows only the frame, mostly alumium. I was told by several members here that it is a Schluter Heli-Star. One guy even sent me the blow up of parts--thanks again BTW.

It's hard to tell from the pic but, it's a sixty size. I had a Heli-Baby, there is a B/W photo of it in my gallery and this Heli-Star is much larger. It's looking even better with the original gear on it-I will post a pic when I get a chance.

somewhere in my gallery you'll see a pic of the old style mechanics used with the 1st gen hirobo heli's.. anyone now the term used for them? have three of these from the hirobo line(huey, gazelle, tow cobra). one of these days i'll put one back in . still have the molybedenum oil inside it . there were others manufactures that used this style too. cheers.
