Anyone have a feda? What do think about it? I just ordered the orion motor for it to up grade. Is there any adjustments on the gyro or mixing?

I have two Fedas. I have never owned a Hummingbird so I can't make the comparison.

Basically, I'm happy with it. I turned off all the radio-mixing in my 9C and this solved my initial tail problems.

I bought the second Feda for use as a crash-kit. I also bought an aluminum swash and micro antenna. Did the collar mod.

I have not experienced any motor problems.

Buy some extra blades!

Get out of ground effect as soon as possible!

I found it too unstable to truly fly inside my home. It does fly well in my courtyard however.

- have fun

Hey stallion, I looked at your gallery, could you please explain the diagram of the resistors and what they are for...Quite interesting.
Thanks.

This was my logic in buying the FEDA. To me it looked as if it was a knock off Hummingbird. It also seamed to be allot cheaper as they have a some what junky stock radio set up. This was if I destroy it I can upgrade. That sounds like some of my wifes logic. "These 100 dollar shoes were 50% off so I bought 2 pair." I have been able to hold a good hover in Ground Effect after much practice. When I did get braver i brought it up to about 3 feet and it was much more stable. I have done all of this flight training in my living room while it was pouring rain outside. I have ordered the Orion motor and I will order a new tail motor as mine is smoke checked. This may sound dumb to a few of you pro's but I bought a ZOOM SPOUT oiler from Ace hardware the other day and proceded to oil all the bearings and ball links. I noticed a marked improvement in control response.

The plan with the resistors and LM17 was to create a voltage regulator to smooth out tail wag when using the CSM 200 the gyro is actually very good but its resolution is so higher the esc cant keep up and the tail starts to build up gradually to a violent wag. It has been made to work by some and has proven to increase motor life and steady the tail to perfection, however I never got it to work, maybe I did something wrong? Regardless of this the problem was fixed by using a different esc, apparently the "gws ics 50" and the "Schulze 105 HE" work best with the CSM200.

Im gonna put some close up in flight pictures on my gallery soon

FWIW The Century Hummingbird is a FEDA - Some of the first HB's had FEDA stickers still on them.
