Hi,

I learned that the Picoboard Pro have problems with the synthesized Futaba 9Z TX module (35Mhz).

Since I am thinking to purchase an e-heli (preferably a Hornet CP), just started to wonder if other 6ch micro receivers (e.g. GWS, Berg) have thesame problem?

Thx,

Chip

they probably dont have any problem. micro rx's are simply micro. the piccoboards are speed controllers, and receivers in one. you shouldnt have ny problems with bergs rx's, and any other micro rx

9Z synth and rx

Chip...

I've already played this game. the Futaba 9Z synth wont work with any of the micro single conversion rx's I've found...GWS, FMA, Hitec, Berg etc. After getting the 9Z and synth to make radio gear easier (no worries about crystals) I found I had to get a single channel RF module to replace the synth for use on micro rx....so that's what you'll most likely end up having to do. Remeber that 9Z RF module are differnent than any other units....used on 5U, 7U, 8U, 9C etc radios. I think the 9Z modules are "TK" and the others are "TP".....I was told it would blow something up if I tried to use the TP style. I know the Hitec "Spectra" synth works on micro rx, and I've seen one used in Futaba radios, but again, not in a 9Z.

BTW let me know if you find a micro rx that accepts the 9Z synth!!!

Hope this helps,

Hitec Electron 6

Hi,

I use a hitec electron 6 which is a dual conversion receiver in my Zagi, works just fine with the 9Z and synth module. It's fairly small, probably not as small as the others, but should be small enough for your purposes. Don't know if they have the 35Mhz crystals though.

When I was looking around, I was warned to stay away from all those micro single conversion receivers. I was told they weren't worth the aggravation. As always, your mileage may vary...

Here's the spec's, they give numbers with and without the case, so I guess you can remove the case to get that last little bit out of it.

I also use Hitec-6 electron receivers with 9-Z.72mhz though. TimT

COOL! That's good to hear...I once asked a mail order outfit to try that combination for me to see if it would work, since Hitec couldn't give a certian answer, and the mail order tech guy said it didn't work. I suspected he didnt' know how to use a 9z, but he wouldn't listen to any sugestions on setting the radio up for the test.

anywho, thanks for the input

I once read a posting from Gary Wright where he listed several RXs that are compatible with the 9z synth module. I'm pretty sure it was on RC Universe.com or ezonemag.com, but I just tried searching for it and couldn't find it. Look for it as it has lots of good info. on RX compatibility. Sorry I couldn't find it.
