How on earth do you do this on a heli, I have been trying for ages on G2 with no success whatsoever.

Cheers.....

Well its an outside loop, ie. the heli is on the outside of the loop compared to the inside on normal easy loops.

This is off a full size plane Aerobatic Maneuvers site. I can do this with planks but not yet with heli's:-------

The bunt is a negative loop. Start at a safe height. And heading into wind fly the model fairly slowly and gently begin to push down elevator. Keep pushing and just before you get to the bottom of the ‘loop’advance the throttle to full. keep pushing and eventually you will be back in level flight. This is a very easy maneuver if you have the confidence, and your airframe can take the negative attitude.

Keith -have you tried it from the bottom up, i.e. by rolling inverted and pushing through. Used to be the 'easy' way with planks, mainly because the mode is going up rather than down, less pucker, lower laundry bills! Nearest I've some with a heli was a forward flip, scared the sh*t out of myself!

No Dave, cant say I've tried it the way you suggest. I may do (from safe height). I dont have a problem's doing it with planks. Mind you my philosophy is if you don't try, you'll never know!

I shall try it this weekend, weather permitting. I have gone a little to the land of planes recently, just got me a second hand Twin Jet from a member on here (Darren Bradley) and it flies great and sounds sweet.

Dave:- You coming to the UK 3D masters? Sorry I missed you at Sandown. Could not make it this year. Re: work, you know how it is.?

I've seen this manuever done many times, start high and enter it fairly fast into the wind and keep pushing the nose down, I'm surprised you can't do it on the sim.

you need to be in idle up when you drop the nose so you can increase throttle when you're inverted while putting in negative pitch to push the heli back up to the top of the loop.

I usually climb up in altitude to allow a larger loop, flying in pattern
going at high speed I do the opposite of a regular loop, feeding
in down elevator and taking out collective both in a smooth
fashion, then flying the bottom inverted then feeding in down
elevator and neg collective to climb back up.
Too much of either causes a small loop or tumble, also too slo of an entry or speed in the manuver will make the loop small.
When I can get the timing of the elevator and collective I can keep
up more speed and fly a larger faster loop either inside or outside,
the outside loops seem a bit harder to do though, I need to practice
more inverted to power through the bottom of the loop.

Keith - don't have any plans to be at the UK master's, sadly. I used my travel budget at the beginning of May, and my kids travel from England to Finland that same weekend! Short of a lottery win, I won't be there
