Ergo 30 - 2 hard crashes.$200 a piece(one time I flew into the sun and got disoriented, other time I lost tail rotor control during pirouettes in a stall turn, almost pulled out but I was too low)
Raptor 30 - 2 hard crashes less than $100 a piece(one time motor quit inverted in a loop with not enough room to recover, other time motor bogged during low tumbles, headspeed dropped and she dropped out of the sky with not enough time to recover) 2 minor boom strikes $50 or less(both practicing autos).

For the time I've been flying, I've crashed less than 1% of the time.

Before I ever crashed, I didn't like that phrase

My dumbest "crash" was when I was testing my Shuttle and 7ch Futaba in the driveway. Everything seemed fine. Wife told me I had a phone call. I set both the heli and the radio down on the driveway behind the Lincoln and went in to get the phone. After an hour conversation on the phone I totally forgot about the heli in the driveway. It was now dark and so I decided to bring the car into the garage. I backed up first (I have no idea why) felt a thump, and then to my horror remembered where I had left my toys! Both the xmtr and heli were crushed beyond salvage. I never put anything behind the car, anymore (including grandkids).

This forum is great

There really is something to be said about crashing stories, cause its so funny when its not you. But I get so pissed when I crash. And the thing is if I really needed to not crash, I could. Except for my first crash, don't really know what happened, the confusion caused me to say to myself "why did I ever waste my money and get involved in this thing." Well after I fixed it up, I was so scared that I took things slow for a while, and I learned, geez this is easy. If I really was scared and if it was very neccessary that I couldn't allow myself to crash, I prob could, and then I prob wouldn't be doing mini circuits in my treed in backyard, but its just so fun. Hitting my brick wall was kinda cool too, sounded like a weed wacker. Well its been hell actually waiting for the parts. I think I better take it real easy, cause I don't know if I should crash again anytime soon.

Anyone ever get that urge, I guess its from flying the sim so much and so laxadazically (maybe thats a word), to just fly really crazy and then just fly into something. Omg I would never, but the longer you fly, the more comfortable you get, and the more comfortable, the more you crash.

Omg I couldn't image flying anything expensive. To me its just not worth it. When you really analyze flying, the heli is so expendible, you could easily destroy the whole thing so easily. I just couldn't justify putting 3000 in the air, let alone some of you that have 8000 or so up there. That is more than my car is worth.
