Hello all Excel gurus!

I'm trying to make a Excel form that includes multiple rows and each of the rows has multiple columns too. Just like the following sample listed below. I'm scratching my head off because of I'd like to make it simple to choose the items(rows) that will be printed out on paper in a final form. Like rows for the Item 2 and the Item 7. I tried to make some option buttons, but I cannot make them work properly. I can also hide rows that I don't want to be printed out, but that's way too impractical if you have lots of lines. If you guys/girls could help me and perhaps have any kind of form as a basis, then I would be very happy. Please just email me to jarno.makinen@mail.suomi.net

Sample:

We can provide You the following items:

Capasity Lenght Price
Item 1 5tn 16,35m XYZ $
Item 2 8tn 7,3m XYZ $
Item 3 8tn 13,6m XYZ $
Item 4 10tn 23,5m XYZ $

Or perhaps these items too:

Capasity Lenght Price
Item 5 5tn 16,35m XYZ $
Item 6 8tn 7,3m XYZ $
Item 7 8tn 13,6m XYZ $
Item 8 10tn 23,5m XYZ $

Cheers
Jarno

PS. Yes I should read my homework on the Excel.

Jarno, you need to talk to my wife, she's just finished HER homework on Excel! And she speaks your language, she went to school in Oulu!

David, shouldn't you be more careful, letting your wife come here on the polar circle (well, almost) and then even refering you heli fellows to her. What if she likes Jarno heli more than yours! Yaks!

Jarno, try out the filter function in Excel

Just type in your data, but put first column as a selection column and then put 1 to selected rows, 0 on not selected.
Then apply autofilter.
Then from filter just select the 1's as selected-> only rows with 1 are displayed

You could also use Ordered of other key to the filter.
You can the also filter by lenght, price etc.

Jari,

I know I can trust her, she wouldn't let a Freya turn her head!

Dave, Jari:

Way too funny What if my Freya has a new Muscle Pipe 2 and a big block?

Jari, filtering doesn't really help much. It's very handy sometimes, but if you have to select plenty of rows that can't have any "classification" it's useless. For example: I'm making an offer to a customer. I have a list of available items, but don't want to offer him/her all of them. For instance I want to take those which are the most suitable for this occasional case, lets say 3 of seven choices. By filtering the seven, it really doesn't help if those 3 rows have both zeroes and ones.

But anyway, thanks for a tip Jari. I'll keep tinkering with this stuff some time and I know that I will make it work

Damn it, man, that's fightin' talk! Maybe I'd better stop trying to sell my 3.5HP Rossi!

You guys coming down to Vesivehmaa beginning of July?

Not sure about that yet. My FAI skills need so much work before I dare to take a part in that class. And because of the enormous public pressure I won't be able to fly in a sport class anymore...otherwise I'll mugged

Hope I get some flight time until it's too late. The weather sure isn't on my side today, that's for sure

I am getting persuaded to enter the Eurosport, we've started practising in Elimäki, hadn't realised all the hovering had to be side on! I'll be there, though, flying or watching. Come and say hello, I'm easy to spot, the only Englishman there!

Jarno, couldn't fly here today either, I was more worried about driving in this wind than flying in it! There are branches off the trees in the garden down here. Not a good June!

Weather

Yep, awlful wind. Tomorrows forecast looks promising, but on Thursday we will get some drops of water again Btw, Dave do you know that I have moved? I got a very good work post in Tornio (the permanent one too)! Some magnetic force is drawing me towards the North Pole

Well, at least Tornio isn't so far away from Oulu (145km). So I'm flying with my buddies in Oulu every now and then when visiting my parents. There is also a guite good flying site here, actually in Sweden. I live in the centre of Tornio and only 600 meters from the center of Haaparanta city, which is located in Sweden!

I was in Tornio/Haaparanta last summer during our Lapland tour (on the return leg!) Not a bad place.
Quite a trip down to Lahti, hope you make it, be good to see the faces behind the names!
