What is a bullock? Notice it used more than a few times on some boards and newsgroups in postings from the UK and elsewhere, usually when someone is teed off at someone. I think its a bad thing like bull****! Am I right?

My mother always said, "look it up yourself" but that's asking too much for this crowd.

bul·lock (b‹l“…k) n. 1. A castrated bull; a steer. 2. A young bull. [Middle English bullok, from Old English bulluc.

I'm not a Brit but I do have a dictionary although they may have another meaning altogether.

Can you post the sentence it was in? so we can get a better understanding.

But generally I would think
"Thats a load of bullock"
=
"Thats a load of bullsh*t"

I suspect you've got the wrong word, you probably mean 'Bollocks', which is British slang for 'balls'.

That's it!

Thanks, I kindof knew what it meant without actually knowing it from the context it was used!

Happy to help foster trans-Atlantic understanding! Glad you were able to infer the true meaning from the context. Often used to simply mean 'rubbish' in conversation.

Any time, Jim Especially when it's too windy to fly, as it is now. Hoping it'll ease of in the next hour or two.

Just had a mental image of some poor guy in middle-America crashing his heli and saying 'Oh Bullock', coz that's what the Brit's say!

Mark, just watch out for someone painting over the U to turn it into an O. At least you'll know where they're from!

Not to recall history.......

Thought the Brits tried to tax unnecessary things way back when.......

Thanks again for the "English" lesson, Dave !

If you think those YANKS tear the language a new A$$, you should document Texans' conversations. I'm fixin to myself.

We still tax unnecessary things VAT (sales tax) this, inheritance tax that, guess what.... It is proposed that we tax food depending on how much fat it contains!!!!

The Portsmouth fat party doesn't have the same ring to it does it?

Oh and ROUTE is pronounced root NOT rowt that's the only one that really gets me going.

One other thing - if someone says something is the "dog's bollocks", it means it's good, not bad.

Confused yet ?
