| If a mech unit is all you can afford now dont worry it will work fine for you. Later, when you are ready to do serious aerobatics replace it with a piezo HH gyro and a super fast rudd servo. The mech unit is fine for hovering and FF, it does draw a lot of current to use so dont turn it on until the heli is started and ready to lift off then shut it down when you land to conserve batt. power, a larger batt pack is needed if you plan to fly a lot using a mech gyro, a piezo only pulls from 30ma to 80ma depending on make and model, its the best choice really. If I was you Id just get a cheap piezio instead, if for nothing else to save current. Besides, the piezo talkes to the rudd servo faster and works better. Telebee and Century gyros are a dime a dozen on the web Im using a telebee in my Rappy and it works fine, I did open the case when I bought it and added foam to protect it from vibs and it has never glitched or not performed ever, for the $$ it was an excellent bargain. The Century unit I had drifted badly the first flights out but then settled down on the subsequent flights there after so either is an ok choice, JR and Futaba also have good starter piezo gyros so happy hunting.
