Thats a pretty broad statement. What did they do to hack you off? I have always had great results useing Ricks. As have many of the people here. So why did you decide to post this thought? Just wondering. I know I don't feel this way. Anyone else?

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Sounds like somebody needs to go back into retirement.

You will not find more honest and hardworking folks than at Rick's.

You best be wearing your best flame suit, and, be prepared to get no help from anyone on this board from now on if you don't retract your statement.

Guess who just made my ignore list?

I have never had bad service from Rick's. Ron and Nathan are both great people to deal with and very knowledgeable. It's too bad you feel that way.

I've had nothing but great service from Rick's. Any issues I have had with them have been instantly resolved.

The only addition I wouldn't mind seeing is a stock status indicator attached to each item. But even if they never add that, I'll still continue to do business with them.

Ron has always been very helpful and cordial in ALL my dealings with him. Maybe a private phone call with him can address your gripe?

What are you trying to do?What possible good have you done?If you were my customer I would never allow you to receive any help ever again.Just getting off some steam is one thing but your personal attack doesnt do anything but offend all of us that use and admire the whole gang at Rick's.

I'm struggling to hold back here.

What part of THIS that is plainly on their
web page isn't clear:

I'll be gone from Thursday at noon until Monday morning at 10am. MHA Funfly.

Our official operating hours are 10am-8pm Mon-Thurs.
However, we do answer the phone and return calls anytime we are here.

Right, Nathan and Ron are the one
who know helicopters. Most of the
rest of the crew is basically office staff
and they do a good job of it.

Hmm, you can't construct actual english
sentences, require about 40 posts in order to figure out a GV1 and then declare 'it sucks, I returned it'.

What else sucks in your world?

Please, please, shop somewhere else.
Ron & co. are the most upright &
customer oriented people in this
silly hobby.

You really have vanishingly small
amounts of class, style & grace.

Well, PAUL-HILLMAN you have already done a lot of damage to one of the best helicopter shops in the country. I think instead of a "reversal" an apology is in order.

At the risk of getting run over by the train flattening Paul (who did bring this on w/ his broadly tainting brush; but he didn't blasphemy Jesus Christ, after all), the point that they are effectively closed Fridays, and often not speaking to the knowledgeable someone when you call (I'd rather deal at my convenience than theirs) is a valid knock. Saying you're closed doesn't negate the lesser service compared to those that are open and available. That said, they are my source of choice.

By the way Paul, what's your new screen name going to be?

Man I'm sick of hearing posts that bash Hobby Dealers. From time to time I'm sure every Hobby Dealer has things fall through the cracks (I know I do), but that is no reason to bash them, and defame their credibility. I'm sure you could resolve the issue through more amicable means than posting here. I've used Rick's, and their service was great.

Regards - Steve

I've only dealt with them a few times vs Heliproz and the parts are always quick to show up, and just what I ordered. I still have a part on BO, that's been about 4-5 weeks, but I understand it's a manufacturer issue and not Rick's. And when I post little questions on their web order form, I get little answers back on my invoice.. cool (I like those kind of minor details!)

I've ordered from them many times and have always had good results. They even pack the goods so they won't get damaged. I love how they wrap the tail booms and flybar rods with oak strips. I can put those strips of oak to good use as well with my other hobbies

I've even had their shipping room guy call me (I forgot what his name was) to ask me about my order and he don't even know helis. How cool is that? I never had any one from Tower's shipping department call me. Nathan is very prompt on his email replies and always nice to deal with. I've never dealt with Ron personally but from his website posting he seems like a great guy.

You should try to be more specific as to why they suck. Making a general statement such as you did will only harbour hostility towards you from the multitude of RR patrons that have only had nothing but good experience from Rick's. You also said they should stick to lumber. Have you dealt with Rick's lumberyard so you can qualify that they indeed do lumber better than helis?

For my money I'll stick with Rick's. While it's true other vendors may have the parts I need at a few pennies cheaper I am quite satisfied with their service and attitude to spend my hard earned dollars with them. In fact I'm hoping they're going to be at the Hirobo Cup that's coming up in Dallas so I can meet Ron and nathan personally.

was your post a case of 'open-mouth-insert-foot?'

Ricks Rocks

Living north of the border, I have never bought anything from Ricks as customs always seems to screw things up. But....they still have answered a few questions for me on the phone even though I'm not buying anything because why? THEY ARE DEDICATED TO THIS HOBBY!!!

I have to chime in. I have had nothing but good experiences with Rick's. Ron is a man of integrity and honor. (my opinion and dealings) I would not hesitate to purchase anything from them. If I have a question and leave voice message concerning a purchase I get a phone call back from him or his staff. I don't know what troubles you had with Rick's, but to say they suck & know nothing without giving statements to back it up is a pretty ambiguous comment. It seems like the majority feels the same way. Maybe you should try talking to Ron himself before slamming Rick's
