I have a OS 32F-HX engine that Is 3-4 years old, but only has a few tanks of fuel run through it. I wrecked my helicopter and then gave up on it.
I decided to get back into helicopters now!
I poured rubbing alcohol through the engine to clean it out ,and reinstalled it.
It was hard to start, but i got it running and adjusted the carb(about 2 turns open)it runs good, mabey a little rich.

the problem is after a min or two it will just quit! even it half throttle!
I can then start it on the first pull, and it will idle good too.

It has a 3H carb and I'm running wildcat 15%premium extra that works great in my 40 OS, in my plane.

Thanks for any help!

Dennis, I had a os 32 that had some time on it, and it would quit after 45 sec. of hovering. I changed all fuel line, plugs, etc. Still the same problem. Opened the motor up and saw that the bearings were in rough shape. Replaced the bearings and it ran good for another 15 gallons.

Hey tailwhip, it sounds like there may be some fuel residue left in the engine/carb. You may want to try this; I have used this several times on engines, mufflers etc. with excellent results "cook" the engine in full strength anti-freeze. Disassemble the engine as far as you can, cook the parts overnite in a crock pot. **NOTE** Only do this in a well ventelated area and NEVER use the container for anything else as it will be contaminated! You will be surprised how clean the engine will come out. I have left parts cooking for up to a week and no harm can be done to them, sometimes you may have to use a toothbrush to get at stubourn stains. Also do as alan says, while you have the berings out make sure they are in good shape.---------Barry.
