Hi guys,
I have a problem with the tank on my Freya... It keeps getting trown out during fast piros.... This time I lost one of those little buttons that are supposed to keep it in.. I had some foam jammed in between the tank and the frames to try to keep it tight but that did'nt work so I'm open to suggestions!!

Thanks,

RTV

RTV or Goop the little rubber dubers to the frame. This should help keep it all together. If you still have trouble glue them to the frame and the tank.

I threw my tank too, but mine was caused by the LRD failure. three of the 6 where sheared in half.

My guess is your piro's are blindingly FAST. You might try backing them down just a tad too.

Use RTV silicone to glue the cushions in to the tank and on the frames. If you need to pull the tank out, it can be pulled out

Make sure, the little feet are glued in and try adding some fuel tubing to the cross member below the tank. This will give the tank a little more friction. Man I'd love to see your piro rate. Warp speed Mr. Sulu.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Well, I ordered some new mounts for the tank. I'll try the things you all suggested except for lowering the piro rate....I rather fix the problem than lower the performance. It's really hard to say exactly when then tank got ejected because first I did 3 FFF piros then a very tight loop! I'm amazed how much tail authority this bird has! This bird is pretty nice so far (I only have 4 tanks through it)! It kinda flys like my X-Cell SE!!

Thanks again!

Freya Tank "seatbelt"

We have made a seatbelt from a electronics strap (offered by Mr Carbon). Basically we strap it from one side of the frame to the other behind the tank. We split the strap length wise to fit the point at the back of the tank. Needless to say it's not moving any more. Unfortunatly I do not have any pics at this time but if you are interested I'll see what I can do. BTW it doesn't have to be the Mr. Carbon strap, it is just what we used.

Similar to what beedub is doing, I just strap a 1" velcro strap from the landing gear up to just underneath where the tail boom goes in. There is spacer up there you can wrap around. I did my first tumbling auto when I threw the tank a while back. I did silicone the tank in once, held real well, a pain in the behind to take the silicone off once it was placed. I put large fuel tubing on the bottom spacer and then the strap. Don't even worry about the black grommet things anymore, they get tore up after a while.
