Well I went out and bought myself an Icom R2 scanner. Took it to work with me today. Did you know that somewhere close to A&J hobbies someone is using our channel 24 for some sort of dispatch. At the heli club a few channels were getting hit repeatedly while I was there this afternoon.

I lost my infamous tag line.

very handy

I have a sony wavehawk (cost me $120) and scan before I fly- especially in new flying areas. I even scan frequencies in between channels even just to be sure. When all clear, I just tune in my favorite FM station or police channels.

I was in Toronto in Nov 2000 for a month on business and went to A & J Hobbies. I was just getting interested in helis but ended up buying a planker kit. BTW, it was to darn cold for a southern boy like myself even in Nov!!

How cool? It's a small world. Who all flies up there with you? Sluggo?

Also, how much and were can I get a scanner? MANY times I have questioned how clean the airwaves are at one of our fields down here in Houston.
