What RPM should this thing be running at? I have a friend who has one and the RPm is about 1300, is this enough? How do you increase the RPM?

Thanks for the info.

Jeff

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

Change the pinion to a 9 T or 8T .. if you can replace the main motor too.. that will give you a lot moe RPM, mine lifts at about 1/4 throttle..

Choco, if you're friends heli is flying around fine then it's enough to get the lift required for flight. The stock main motor pinion is a 10 tooth, in order to raise the head rpm you need to get closer to a 1:1 ratio so with that you need a higher tooth count on the pinion or lower on the main gear, I am using a 12 tooth pinion and it works great! I also have the 9 tooth pinion that wont lift off above 2" with full throttle so with that pinion my head speed is too low. Down there in Texas the altitude density is high enough to be able to gain lift at a lower head speed... I am at 5,600 + feet so it does not work here.... Jeff.
