Out at the local club last Friday evening with a few of the lads with a low sun and two of us in the air avoiding flying anywhere near the blinding light. I was about 100feet doing some very neat 90% banked circles when out of the corner of my eye I noticed the Nexus was flying towards me from above . With very little time to react my F1 in a 90% turn struct the Nexus on his boom with a very loud ******* bang. The F1 immediatlly fell to the deck hitting a soft grass bank smack on the nose. To my dismay the nexus was still flying and seemed to be OK still buzzing around the sky.

As I dragged myself to the crash site the Nexus landed and spooled down as normal. On reaching my heli my heart sank at the damage but thought it may not be too bad when I have a closer look.

New Canopy
Main Main
Spindle
Flybar
G10 Radio tray mounts
Blades
Tail tube
Tail rotor drive wire and tube
Remote glow??? Lost in the long grass
2 servo gears stripped
£110 or approx $180

On carrying back my ship to the compound I was totally shocked to find the only damage on the Nexus was where my blades must of just clipped his tail shaft just short of his tail gear box.

I will never fly with anybody that close again .....lesson learnt.

Parts on back order waiting for Quick UK to recieve Carbon frame stock.

F1 Carbon 60

Carbon CCPM 60 size heli with the only drawback that it does not have a constant driven tail. No becranks to swash plate as Servo's are mounted below the head so a direct line with no slop can be obtained to control surfaces.

Flies very well and is cheap to repair as you can see from my list. I have had two engine outs and yes the tail rotor does stop but the landings where perfect with no damage. Will do the full book of 3d but I am not at that stage in my flying to go beyond loops and rolls.

I will probably at some stage build a scale body round the pod and boom as that type of flying suits me more than the heli.

The most amazing part is that there was blinding sunlight in Scotland...and it isn't even July yet!
