Well, I have started looking into aquiring a second helicopter, any suggestions?

I plan on selling off a plane or two to pay for it... these things are too addictive!

My suggestion? Don't get another helicopter. You already have a fine nexus. Fix the clutch, and fly that. Then buy your flying buddy a case of beer, and buy him another heli. He needs one more to deal with his Sceadu pain. Two hawks in one house is not a crime.

B&B supports the Hawk. Other than fuel foaming that can be cured with a header tank and armor all in the gas, I have not heard much bad about it. It is cheap, but hell. The raptor is a decent choice as well. It just isn't supported much around here. It also costs more. Are you thinking about keeping the nexus around? Or building another? I would buy either a Raptor or a Hawk. The sceadu is a great ship as well, but it is really a 50, and in another price league.

If you want to rip your nexus apart, this could be inexpensive. Just the price of the kit. The Hawk comes with what looks like a nice muffler already. Good luck, and we'll get that clutch back togethor.

Thanks, John Cadwell

Second Heli

I agree with JC

If you do want to buy a second one The Hawk IV or SE would be a great choice.

If you have a few extra bucks. The new Century Falcon SE V2 is a IMHO the best 50 size out there and the least expensive.

Whatever you get, have fun

Archer183,
There is much to consider when making a new heli purchase such as what gyro do you eventually plan to use? If you want to run say a GY401 HH gyro W/ a digital servo or anything else hi-end on your heli eventually as your skills allow and/ or pocket book then a belt or tube drive heli will be a must, I think the Raptor is your best bet all around, it has a great tail setup as far as total throw and the belt drive makes it solid much more than any wire drive could ever do. There is also many good upgrades for it such as a driven tail, metal tailblade holder, etc...The Hawk SE is ok too I have 1, but given a choice my Rappy just plain hands down has a better tail setup using the belt drive, it has more total tailblade throw as well. Its easier to repair also as it has less components to install and setup. After flying both and repairing both its a no brainer decision in that respect. Dont get me wrong, no plastic 30 heli is perfect but do consider the tail drive area carefully when ording your next heli belt and tube are light yrs. ahead of wire drives and the new gyros coming out demand that in their instructions now.

2nd heli

My first heli and current heli is a GPH 346. My 2nd heli is a Freya that I haven't built yet. If you can progressing and plan on staying in heli's, get any 60. I prefer Hirobo, but MA makes great heli's too such as the Fury.

No reason to buy an Eagle or a SE too much these days.

My Freya is going to be loaded. OS 91, Hatori muffler, all digital servo's, GY 601 gyro, and V blades.

How about a 50 plastic fantastic. A Raptor or Sceadu? If you're ready for basic aerobatics (Loops & Rolls) the additional power is a real help.

I just started flying a Raptor 50 after a year with a Raptor 30. I love it. I still use the 30 for low level stuff. Another advantage is you've got two heli's to fly.
