e-MS Composit Hornet > What motor for Hornet CP Brushless setup?

I'm considering a Brushless setup for my CP Hornet. I'm running 3x1200 ETEC's with the stock speed 300 motor at present and just into sport flying - no 3D - not yet anyway

The motors I'm considering are the Hacker B20-26s, the new MS Brushless motor or the ASTRO 010.

The ASTRO is a good deal at H.Hobby - with controller for $120, but does the controller have a Govenor feature and is this combo any good?

Controller choice is also a question - if not an ASTRO combo, what about the MS brushless, Pheonix or Schulze?

I would appreciate some feedback from you guy's as to what's hot for a sport setup and if the ASTRO setup is a good way to go.

Jon,

I've got two CP Hornets, one pretty close to stock, except for a brushless motor and the other has nearly every "trick"/upgrade part available.

With both helis, I have the Hacker B20-22S motor, Phoenix-10 ESC, and Etec-1200 lipolys, which seems to be the "gold standard", at least in the US.

The Phoenix-10 ESC (most recent software) runs pretty smooth in the governor mode. I regularly get 15-20 minutes of flight with plenty of power (lightest Hornet ~270 grams). I hope this helps.

Get a Razormotors micro heli combo with Phoenix 10 ESC for less than $140.00. I am running it's faster cousin the RZ-350 in a FP hummingbird and can say that these motors are gerat. Lighter than the Astro or hacker B20S , capable of handeling more power than the B20 and made in the good old USA for both ESC and motor. I run 2x1200 E-tech lipoly and get tons of power. Plan to go to a collective machine and 3xlipoly soon with this motor.

I am impressed with this motor and I have astros, hackers and Kontronik brushless motors.

At least consider it. I doubt you would be disapointed with it.
