I forgot to write down what Larry said about installing the new Bergen Muffler. I think he said to leave out the gasket, but don't remember if he said to use locktite on the long allen bolts, and if he said to seal the gasket area with Hi temp RTV, or anything else. Would appreciate anyone assisting me. Thanks, Rick

muffler install

Rick, I just reinstalled the muffler on my gasser. I used high temp RTV on the gasket area, on both allen studs, and on the stud were the nuts go. I also had a extra pair of nuts so I doubled them up. Flew four tanks of gas today and seems to work great. Hope this helps. Charlie

Charlie is Bragging again about the extra nuts!!!!!!

I have found red RTV to work well on all the areas charlie mentioned.

I believe Mal has had good luck using green locktite on the studs in the motor.

I have been using "High Temperature" Loc-Tite (availible at your local auto parts store) on the studs and nuts and some high temp silicone in place of the gasket. Seems to be working out great.
