I picked up a astroflight 112d charger and am not sure of the correct charge rate for a 3000 mah nicad if anyone has experience with this charger help would be great

Location: 10000 is enough time wasted.

you can use a charge rate of anywhere
from 300 (C/10) all the way to a
ripping 6000 or even 9000 (2C or 3C)
depending on how much time you
have. Very fast charging puts stress
on the battery so unless you have
a compelling reason, stick w/ something
like 1500-3000 (0.5C-1C)

are you sure they're NiCds? i'm not aware of any 3000mah NiCds cells on the market, unless they're bigger than sub C size, which would be unusual in this hobby.

i suspect you're talking about 3000mah NiMHs. regardless of whether they're the sanyo 3000s or the panasonic 3000s, you don't want to charge them at more than 1C, which is 3 amps. some NiMH can be charged at more than 1C (like the HRSC2600), but the 3000 NiMHs don't like to be charged harder than 1C.
