Hi Guys, I have flown nitro helis for years , but I have no experience with electrics. I have a Vario Silence coming, swapped a couple of glow helis for it. I don't know much about it, just that it is a Vario, flybarless head, CF frames, carbon blades, so I am guessing the quality to be good. It is new, partially assembled. It has a Kontronic Tangos brushless motor and ESC. I still need to get servos and a gyro, what do you guys recommend, I have seen the micro servos, would these be a good choice? For the gyro, I have a new Arcamax PI, it is very small, thinking about using that. Do you guys use HH gyros on these helis? One last question, it has (3) 10 cell,2400 mah battery pacs, will my FMA Super Nova charger handle charging these, or will I need something else?....Thanks ....Coop

coop, To answer your questions as I can,

You will want to use good qualityservos and probably digitals because of the flybarless design... You don't have the flybar to lend power to the control system so the digitals (decent quality ones) will likely be needed...

Acramax??? Most people are running either the Futaba 401 to 601 or the upper end JR headding hold gyros... They work great... Personally I use the GY-401 / 9253 combo on my Joker and it works quite well... I have built Jokers for other people and have used one of the Futaba HH gyro / servo combos on all of them and they have all worked super...

You will have to be making those 3 10 cell packs into 2 15 cell packs for them to fit properly in / on the Silence... It is designed for two sticks hung on either side of the mechanics...

Your SuperNova will do the job, albeit a bit slowly, as individual 15 cell packs... One of the Orbits (I use and recommend the PRO version) or the Schulze (any one of several models) will be a good nvestment and will charge the pack as a whole (30 cells) much more efficiently...

E-Helis are great, Enjoy,

Great elec your gettin' there.

But as said before, don't invest in cheap equipment. It's a .60 sized heli from canopy to tail, same weight, and with the flybarless head heavy on the swashplate servos. The Kontronik motor and ESC are state of the art, there are only few better out there.

Some technical date on my page www.graf-eckstein.de (german, but the data are about the same everywhere )

If you need advice setting it up, feel free to mail me.

Born to fly. Forced to work.
