I just replaced the stock plastic swashplate on my Hummingbird with the aluminum upgrade swashplate from helihobby and now I noticed I have a lot of vibration on my main rotor, It seems that the little plastic tube held the shaft tight in place but now that I put the aluminum shaft collar and the aluminum swashplate it just vibrates and wobbles at high RPM.
By the way if you do the shaft collar mod go with the one with 2 screws, the one i got only has 1 screw and it was cheap and it stripped right after i installed it, You really need the 2 screws to hold the shaft in place...

Mine will be here today...so I hope there is not a flaw with them..did you order the kit or the one already assembled? I got the kit....could it be just amplifying a out of balance head with the tighter swash? Jeff.

I ordered

I Ordered the one already assembled, It was a little more expesive but I didn't want to take a chance a having to bend and cut the screws,
I will tweak with it later on today see if i can figure it out why is vibrating.
Let you know what I find.
My Hummingbird used to fly just fine when it was all original all the problems started when I started moding and installing 'upgraded parts'
The diode mod didn't really work it just cut the voltage too much and the rotor woudn't start. Maybe with a different ESC would work but with the stock Hummingbird board it doesn't. The Graupner speed300 has too much torque and the stock GYRO can't keep with the rev.
not a good idea to upgrade to any motors unless you go separates.
and a HH GYRO. My conclusion is leave your Hummer like it comes from factory, learn how to fly it, get used to it and start with the collar mod. upgrade the batteries to Li-polys. those are the only mods that make sense. When u ready to go separates and invest the extra money$ HHGYRO 2 and 5 amp ESC plus new motor then replace it all at once...

I second the Orion Elite Mod motor. Just an awsome motor. Happy Flying Guys!

I installed the aluminum swashplate lastnight and everything works great! no vibes other than normal....I had to sand my collar shaft lock to a cone shape to get the swash to be able to tilt ( took me a few cuss words to figure this out ) but it is a nice change from the sloppy plastic one, I did not bend the antirotation pin yet as it seems to have more than enough travel without any binding. I am sure you did, but did you make sure the black plastic "bearing" is pushed into the swash all the way? also did you check the distance from the swash to the balls to see if they are even? I am going to balance the whole head today to take out a little vibration thats been in there... let me know what you find. Jeff.
