Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Whats your Fury Weigh?

I'd like to get as many responces as I can get. I just converted my Fury 50 to a 60. When it was a 50 it weighed in at 9lb 1 oz. Now that it is a 60 with the longer boom etc bigger tail blades, the new lower brace the OS 61 WC and SAB 188g main blades and the addition of a GV1 it came in at 10lb 3 oz. I also switched the 8101's with 8231's. Please weigh your Fury's without fuel but with the main blades and post your results. I have flown it 4 times now and it flies better as a 60. The OS 61 with the MP is great. I think I will not need the GV1 as the engine pipe combo works well without it.

Thanks

Mine was around 10.5 lb. It's going to lose the governor and go back to a four cell pack without the regulator.

Well, because of the muscle pipe, header and mount. My Fury weighs 10 lbs 1 oz. with a nimh 2150 battery pack. The performace factor of the engine and pipe make up for the little extra weight.
I like it!!

My model is in the 10.3 pound range. The greater than 10 pound weight is coming from the addition of the GY502 (1 ounce more than the 401), contest weight paddles (40 grams more total weight), contest blades (20'ish more grams a piece weight over 3D blades), and a 9250 throttle servo (don't laugh; those metal gear servos weight about 50% more than 9252's), header tank, and ali fan.

Still, better than the Pro was at 11'ish pounds ready to fly. For whatever reason, all Furys feel a 1/2 pound lighter in flight even in cases where they weight up at nearly what the competition does.

Ya Mine is 10.1 with Duralite batteries!! I am baffeled why Jason K's 90 is 9.9 pounds and he runs nimh batteries. I have a header tank maybe that is it...

The Weight is with out canopy that is why it says 9.5 with canopy it is 10.1

My 61 expert weighed 9 1/2 pounds dry with an unpainted canopy.

That was with a 501 gyro.

I think the weight has gone up with some of the new pieces, like the new engine block, 3rd bearing etc.

I might add, too, that canopy weight can vary some. There have been runs of Fury canopies that were on the thinnish side, and some which were heavier, easily by a few ounces. Add to that variances in clear coat application, and you can easily see why the differences in weight are showing up.

With the paint on mine it is pretty heavy I think the header tank adds some, but 9.5 for mine with no canopy I think that is heavy.. I have a gy601 and Gov plus 9252's... I put the metal head on and I think I added weight!!! Oh well It is easier to switch the spindle..lol

My Final Weight

I just got done removing the GV1 and rubber landing gear skids and other little stuf to get my heli as light as I think is warrented. I took an accurate measure of the weight at 10lb 2.5oz or 10.15 lbs. Others have shown that 9lb 13oz (9.85lbs) is obtainable. I have a gem2000 (less than 1/2 oz.) a header tank (1.5 oz.) a reciever strong box (1oz.) a 1800 JR battery pack (1400 would save 1 to 2 oz.) but other than that I do not see anywhere to trim weight. The canopy is very light at 6.6 oz with the paint and gromets installed. I could get anel and shorten many of the radio wires (no not the antenna) and save maybe 1/2 oz.
