I have a new rap with about 6 gal of fuel thru it and its already worn a hole in the gas tank went lean and did my first mini auto no damage I heard there is a tip on the mounting of the fuel tank but I cant remember what it is, Can anyone help me out with a suggestion ?

When installing the tank, remove a screw from the rear landing gear strut to allow you to spread the frames a little. Also, use a washer on the screws that secure the boom supports (both ends)

Sand or file the frame edges around the tank area (when tank is out)
Look for a white powder by your tank- frame areas after a flight. telltale sign that tank is rubbing the frame

Tank Trick

I have already done the trick with the boom supports thats not where the leak was it was on the tit (for lack of a better term) that fits into the frame indention I have had the tank out several times to replace the fuel line and the stopper and the clunk i just popped it out with out loosening up the frame screws so i guess it was probebly my fault but the tank is still a loose fit

And a nice-size hole it was. Jon did a great auto, but I think it helped w/ the wind that day! If only I can do my first auto from that height (care to try again, Jon?)..

a small size of foam tape applied to the frams will space the tank from the frames avoiding wear
