When I first purchased my voyager e , I did'nt know you could run the esc with an 8 cell pack so I bought what JR recommended , the 7 cell nicad packs .

Now I'm planning to add an 8th cell to each pack , will this procedure be efficient or will cell memory be playing stupid games on me !!??

There should be no problems I have 13 nicad packs I have modified

eg 6 -> 7 x cell rc2400 to 8 cell
5 -> 7 x cell 500AR to 9 cell
2 -> 7 x cell CP1700 to 9 cell

be aware you can't get a full charge with a pack of more than 7 cells with a cheapish charger and car battery

Therefore you need a charger that can deal with 8 or more cells

all I did was fully discharge the pack I was going to modify add the new cell.

Then I slow charged it once discharged
Then cycled the pack a number of times before using them in anger and bobs your uncle, jobs a goodun.
