it's a great heli and a very good price, but not for your first heli, if you crash that heli like my last crash it would cost you $400 to fix it,,, now if you make good money on the job and feel the crash cost of a Bergen is reasonable, then go ahead and buy it, or buy it and put it on the shelf, and buy a plastic heli to learn on,,, I fly a Century Falcon and I love it, thank God I didn't start out on a Bergen, but I would love to have one,,,

or buy the Bergen and put it on the shelf but use the flight pack in a plastic 30 size heli, then after you get better fly the Bergen... !!

This isn't top of the line stuff. The 4131s are not digital servos, the 8103 is the middle of the road JR offering, the reciever is FM (not PCM) and that ball bearing gyro is ancient technology. It is decent stuff (with the possible exception of the gyro) and will work fine, but it isn't the top shelf offering.

That said, the intrepid 60 retails for about 900. The price (for what it comes with) seems a bit low. Not sure what kind of shape the gear is in, but I'd wonder a little bit about the seller's motivations.

At that price, for a nice flying heli, that could be a very good price. I wouldn't imagine that it would be the most affordable way to learn how to fly, however. That is what 30 sized plastic helicopters are for.

Thanks, John Cadwell

you need the stack framed .60 to convert to gas,and you want a pcm receiver if you fly gas and a good gyro,i have a 401 gyro in mine.

From the way it is worded (looks like an Advertisment) 3D is used as a buzzword more than a model name. Doesn't mean it isn't an intrepid 3D. Not sure why you would sell all that for 850 if it is a 3D. My guess is that it is an older intrepid, and well used older gear. Doesn't mean it isn't nice or hasn't been taken care of.

Thanks, John Cadwell

Thank you all very much. I am very grateful for your inputs. It is very helpful. I've decided to go for the plastic one, Raptor 50 V2.
I would love to have the Bergen on shelf but I can not afford ...

Again Thanks,
Tbee.

http://www.rcmarket.com/index.cfm?f...sified_id=11932 If this is the helicopter, stay clear of this guy. He is one of e-bay's biggest hosers. And guess what? He has excellent feedback. So much for e-bay. I have flown this helicopter. It is an old Intrepid, not a 3D. It has been for sale for almost 2yrs. caveat emptor

Hey Rick, what's up. I see you are going to be joining the ranks of Intrepid gasser owners.

If you guys want to read more about this guy, go to Ron Lund's "Crook Update" section and read the one titled "All my packages are lost or missing" The guy with the battery would be me. Payback was very rewarding. Thanks to the efforts of a small group within our local flying crowd, this guy had to pay back some big dough. The list of merchants included Rick's, Heliproz, GR8Lakes,CyberHeli, HeliHut, ConsolidatedPlastics, Micro Fasteners, BergenRc, to name a few. Ron Lund was the one that began his downfall. Anytime I see his stuff for sale, I try my best to crash the sale.
