e-Electric General Discussion > e-tek and ESC LVC?

I have been reading about lithium batteries and from what I understand if you drop below 3 volts per cell you can cause damage to the batteries. I have a GWS 5 amp ESC which has a cut off at 4.2 volts. I am ordering the 2 cell e-tek batteries. Clearly if I use these batteries I cannot fly till the rotor stops or it is too late. What are my options? Do you fly on a timer? Do you buy a seperate LVC and if so what do you recommend?

the 2 cell pack is at 7.4 volts along with a huge flight time, I don't know what you are flying but if it's a FP you wont be able to fly till the rotor stops.. so think you will be ok with the voltage. I am using the stock esc one and it seems fine with my setup... putting around till I slowly loose lift...gentle glide to the ground. Jeff.

I am flying a Hummingbird. Are you saying that the HB will not get off the ground at 6 volts? That makes sense, I should have thought of that.
