I have a chance to pick up one of these, and I know nothing about electric helis. This one has carbon frames, an aftermarket brushless motor,( Kontronic Tango?), and esc, and a flybarless head. Do any of you have any experiance with these and also know where I can find some info on them, the Vario site has very little on there about them...Coop

Hey Coop,
I'm using Vario battery holders on my eHawk - so I know their battery holders work great! I've never seen one fly so I don't really have a valid opinion on them although they are supposed to be a good quality machine. They are based on the Sky Fox mechanics and can be easily converted to glow. If its a bargain you should get it - sell off some of those crickets if you have too! You could also ask over at ezone - those guys know everything.

" Sell off some of those crickets"....never!....Actually, I might be swapping some of my GMP Cobra/Legend stuff for it. I have always wanted to try an electric heli, the Vario gas helis are high quality, guessing this would be too. Wish I could find a web page that gave me more info on them though...Coop

I sold off my Schluter stash to go full on into electrics. Man, they're alot of fun! Go over to ezone and ask some questions over there. Shoot me a PM if I can help.

The Silence is definitely worth a try. I fly it with Kontronik Tango 45-04, BEAT 30-8-30, 30 NiCDs 2000 and 2400 and get 'bout ten minutes of flight time out of one pack. The flybarless head is no prob unless you try excessive maneuvers or so I've heard.
Have a look on my hp www.graf-eckstein.de, it's german but the technical data and the pics should be understandable.
By now I've put the mechanics into a Hughes 500 D and it flies great also, I only need to get more stick time but weather is just too windy for me right now...

Questions? Ask. Silence flyers are quite few out there...

Born to fly. Forced to work.

I tried to give you some useful links, but my post dissappeared.

Have I been censored by the thought police?
