| Century serviceI have had generally good service from Heli World, but this last Friday I called and asked that they sell me a couple cases of fuel and bring it out to the Bayside Fun Fly. The reply from the gentleman I talked with was "we don't usually do that". Well, I knew they were going to be there anyway, the FF is only about 1 mile from their store, and Century is the major sponsor of the event. I also asked for a Stylus transmitter heli card. The reply I got here was "WHAT? we don't got nuttin' like that". I explained what it was and there was no interest to see if they could get me one. Sunday I went to the FF and sure enough Peter and Andrew were there with a number of helis, but no fuel. When I asked they replied they weren't selling and the store is closed.
I live about 150 miles away and have no desire to drive another 300 mile round trip during the week when they are open to pick up some fuel. On Monday I called Rick's and they were happy to ship me some.
Payton, you can call this good service or bad, but the experience didn't do anything to convince me that I should spend more money there. I tried to spend $300.00, and yes it would have required a call to Airtronics for the Tx card and loading a couple of cases of fuel in the van along with the helis they were already bringing, but they weren't interested. I've bought two new 60 size helis from them and a number of orders for parts over the years and the service has typically been good, but when I see repeated threads like this one I tend to turn elsewhere.
