Century service

I have had great service from them, but I had a friend who ordered a heli and motor from them some years back and never received the motor. I don't know that he ever got his motor or his money back. The service probably is better now than it was, but I see posts like this every few months, and have to believe there is still a problem. One of the local hobby shops has had similar experiences - 95% of the time everything is great, but when they have a problem it never seems to get resolved. So far I haven't had a problem, but I buy most of my stuff from Heliproz just because of threads like this. I spend $2000.00 - 3000.00 a year on heli stuff and HW is only 100 miles away, but I don't need any more headaches in my life, so I send most of my business another direction and only order from HW when I need something quick or someone else doesn't have what I want. Steve.

I've seen worse..

Howdy!!
I voted great, and I have had no problems with them since ordering from 1997.
That said, it should be noted that all heli shops, manufacturers, etc. have sucked at one time or another.. What makes more noise? A screaming unhappy baby, or a well-fed cooing one?
Anyone unfortunate enough to call MA back when Ted was running the show, would think twice about buying a Fury.. I know I have... Ted's personality made Charles Bronson look like Barney the Dinasour!!!
Give Century a break, the products are great for the price.

This has been repeated over and over... Some people have good luck with them, some dont.

I personally have never had anything go right when I order from them. Almost all the guys I fly with hate ordering from them as well due to their terrible service.

Where's the update Blazen?

I'm still waiting to see how DENNIS CICA responded to your problem. The lack of response from you makes one think you never called to get the problem resolved. Why no update?

Still waiting.

I quit buying from them period. Crappy service, poor products quality.
When I had problems they always made me out to be the bad guy they never made mistakes and it was always my fault.

The new Predator is a Hienz 57 variety he copied everyone elses heli and did a lousy job.

Want a good heli get a Fury or Raptor 60 forget that heli it's worse than the hawk .

Thank God I don't listen to LOUD complaints about companies. It is impossible to please everyone. It is human nature to complain when one feels wronged. Most people never give praise when things go right. That is why so many polls skew toward the negative when not done randomly. Remember, there's usually another side to every story.

I have orderd approximately 10 times from Heli-World. Most recently 5 minutes ago. They have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Every order I make ships the same or next day. The orders have always been accurate. I can't wait till I order my P-max with a c-spec. I'll continue to order everything from them.

It really amazes me that in country where education is free people still manage not to learn to comprehend what they read !!! So let me clear a few issues up

1# I don’t ever recall making any sort of reference to the quality of Century products in this thread. In fact if Helicopter World would not have burned me so bad on the muffler. I would most likely have a P-MAX 90 in front of me right now..

2# I have always felt that Century products have offered a good value. Unfortunately for me that value has been negated by unreasonably poor service after the sale

What can we do if you've had a bad expeiance?
I want to know. I invite anyone who's had a problem in the past to re-evaluate the service changes. I would like to hear from anyone who has an unresolved problem so that I can help resolve it.

Dennis Cica

Blazen,
Nobody said YOU were upset with the quality. That is some others in this thread that only know the Hawk. They are so far removed from ANYTHING Century has made in the last 4 yrs they could'nt tell their A** from a hole in the ground. Yet, they continue to make the same statements......

Now, speaking from EXPERIENCE on this one I HIGHLY advise you to call Dennis CiCa at the number listed above and see if he can't sort the problem out. He is a good guy and has taken care of me and MANY of the guys hanging out in the Century forum when it comes to conflicts.

I am sure he can get your muffler issue sorted out. But, please post back the results of your discussion with them if you don't mind.

Century bashers,
Since some of you just don't get it I will say this one more time and leave it at that....
WAKE UP FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever you claim that Century did to you in the past(assuming it's legitimate....) I am sure they regret. They are trying their level best to get back in the game with great products and great service. Just like any company that has made mistakes in the past they are going the extra mile now. That is why there is a whole new generation of pilots that are tooting their horn. If Century was pulling the same old crap do you honeslty think that the Century Sub forum would have over 10,000 posts and have the following they now have????

If you are going to hang on to something from the past and not call Dennis Cica like he is asking you all to do then please STOP FLAMING them.

Payton,
A couple of years ago I ordered some needed parts for my heli by phone from Heli World. I told the person I was ordering from that I wanted it sent to my work address instead of my home address. He said that was fine. I waited a week and nothing arrived. I called them and told them about it and they said it should be there any time now. I waited another week and called them back. Then they told me they had no record of my order with them. So, I then ordered from Heliproz (my first order from them) and I promptly got my order in three days sent to my work address (since then I have ordered many times from Heliproz and every time 3 days and it is here). A few days later the order showed up from Heli World. I called them and they told me that the order was shipped out a few days earlier. I asked them how it went from they had no order from me to on my home doorstep? I was told the problem wasn't that they didn't have an order from me but they wouldn't send a first time customers' order to any place but the address that is listed on the credit card. That was understandable but the problem was the order taker never told me that and why didn't they get into contact with me so I could know what was going on? As you can see it was one problem after another and with Heliproz, "No Problems." My suggestion to them would be, spend more time talking to a new customer on their first order and explaining more about how they operate and if there is a problem, contact the customer to let them know what is happening. As you can see they have lost a customer forever because of the lack of customer service on their part. I am not saying they are not good people but from my experience, they are not very "customer minded". Just my experience with them though, some others may have had great experiences with them.....

My motto is this..Fly...Rebuild...Fly

Eh?

Just a quick comment since no one gets it yet.

After 1.5 years of phone calls, would you still need that muffler or would you have gotten it from somewhere else?

Blazen is not inclined to PM dennis_cica. I doubt he's even interested in getting that muffler. What he is interested in is:

a) if Century will approach him to make it right

b) if not, how much of Century's business can he take away, after sinking thousands of dollars into them.

It's a lost battle for Century. If they choose a), in order to be consistent, they would have to go back and call or e-mail everyone who's ever had a complaint with them for the past 1.5 years. Hence, the offer to blazen to PM dennis again, and see if they can come to some sort of mutual agreement. (Maybe a $70-100 dollar certificate for anything in the store...)

Blazen, if I'm not mistaken, weren't you on a boating trip for the past year? How was anybody ever able to contact you while you were sailing around the world??? So, they really only had a few months to resolve this before you left?

Blazen, you have accomplished your goal, everybody who's ever had a problem with Century in the past 10 years have come out to voice their opinion. No one new who's on Runryder will touch them... ever. All they have to do is a search, and they will find this thread.

Luckily, the whole world doesn't run on RR. Then, again, I'm sure you have done this on RCU too.

As far as interests go, I buy from Heli-world and Rick's regularly, so it's in my best interests that both these companies stay alive. I've had good luck with both, and no one else seems to be interested in doing business with me (since I live on Guam), except for Tower Hobbies and Hobby People (I fly planks too).

Have you ever e-mailed an internet retailer only to get dusted off, as they are only interested in doing business with people living in the U.S.??? I am glad that both Rick's and Heli-world are happy to sell to Guam (and ship using USPS).

Jimmy

not uncommon with Century products it failed on the first flight

Luck me I found someone that actually reads an entire post
well I guess you got me on that one !!
let me rephrase that statement.
I wrote that when I was really upset with century. I will retract that statement as I have not personally experience excessive failures with century products and as far as quality like I have said many times before Century offers a good value for the money

Now if they could get a handle on there poor customer service they might actually change there insidious reputation and have a fighting chance against the big boys

Like what ?? I love a good story..

I will admit that I have seen my fair share of bad survice. But Helicopter World takes the prize for being the first company to take my money and keep the item I bought.. I should have just donated the money to them, it would have saved a lot of frustration..

Now that I think about it I kind off did donated it to them >>> unwillingly.. To bad I can’t collect treble damages like they can for a bounced check
