This is my home made custom Pan-n-Tilt Camera Rig for my Bergen Gasser Hughes 500 Heli. This is for a Sony Digital camera, i have another a little larger for Video Camera (in pieces, just need to bolt it together).

Looks like a pretty heavy duty camera mount.. how heavy before mountng the rest of the camera gear on it?.

Not heavy at all!

It's all aluminum (everything) 8" wide (not counting servo) & 5" high bolted together with nylon spacer. Weight is exactly 1 lb before camera

Nice job, I like it! However I'd suggest that it could benefit from a final stage of vibration isolation separating the lower deck from everything above - inlcuding any servo noise generated in the tilt-pan mechanism.
