Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Tail hard to control

I tried hovering for the first time (Raptor 30, JR652, OS32, Helimax HH gyro). However, whenever I try to increase throttle, the tail is very hard to control. The Raptor spins in one direction, and then when I apply opposite rudder, it stops for a moment and then starts spinning the other way very fast. I can't get it to stop spinning in any one direction for more than a moment. Is the gain set too high or is there something on my radio not set correctly? Any help appreciated.

Steve,
1. Make sure your belt is on correctly. When you spin the main blades clockwise, the tail rotor should spin CCW.
2. In HH mode, make sure that any revolution mixing is turned off or inhibited
3. Make sure the tail servo is set correctly. When your give right rudder, the tail rod should go towards the front of the heli
4. Make sure the gyro direction is set up correctly. Turn on your trans and heli but don't start the engine. Pick up the heli and give a twist CCW(nose left). The gyro will sense the movement and correct for the twist. So, if you give a twist CCW, the gyro should give an input to twist CW. The tail rod will again go towards the front of the heli. A CW twist should give the opposite response.

Good luck
